-It has antibiotic properties ( it is traditionally used against throat infection, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, esophagitis, gingivitis and other infections on the internal skin), 

-it is recognized as a powerful antifungal, is analgesic, antiseptic, anesthetic
